WHAT MEN LIVE BY?
I love when artists design collections, because, on the whole, they're a lot more fun to look at than something designed by a real designer. Perhaps it's because their job's not on the line, so it doesn't matter if it sells, but there's normally some grand concept behind it all that has to be expressed in bizarre ways that don't really make sense but inevitably look great. Case in point, the What Men Live By? collection by South Korean artist Minky Ha. Supposedly it's based on Tolstoy and Saul Bellow and questions the purpose of life. I don't really buy any of that, but I sure as hell know where I'll be shopping as soon as plush, podular womenswear that looks like it gives the wearer telekinetic powers comes into fashion.
