You probably already know the adidas Stan Smith was named after an American tennis star and was big on the casual scene in the UK. It also makes a nice minimalist piece of anti-design when you're bored of Authentics and All Stars and not really feeling overly sporty or in the mood for wearing what amounts to wedges. More interestingly, though, the shoe is also the sneaker of choice amongst fashion designers as pointed out on Superfuture's Superfashion Randoms Thoughts Forum recently and as seen on Nicolas Ghesquiere, Marc Jacobs, Rei Kawakubo, Pheobe Philo, and Raf Simons.
