INBAR SPECTOR

Who: Inbar Spector is one of those brands that loves to talk fashion and art bullshit about intellectualizing the transient and making sexuality something concrete and indefinite through the use of laser-cut faux-leather and corsets. If Inbar didn’t have such a lovely smile, I wouldn’t even be writing this report right now.

What: Big, fluffy, ruffled skirts over intricately perforated pink and mint green metallic body suits. The mini-dress had just the right balance of shoulder and waist, and the frothy dreamworld wedding dresses that closed the collection were so queenie they were princess. Headpieces by Lara Jensen worked big tacky pink and turquoise gems into glittery chandeliers which hung over the models faces. Sexy in a tumblr kind of way, but still sexy for those of us over the age of consent.

How: This was the slowest fashion show ever. I think it took half an hour to get through about 14 looks. The sound guys were like WTF and had to keep repeating the backing track. Also, I was sitting behind the foxiest silver fox ever, I was all, “Ooh, can I interview you about the show” and he was all “blah blah sexuality romanticism long words” which sucked, but I guess 11am isn’t the best time to attempt to chat up a clearly gay man anyway.

Vibe: Intellectualizing the transient is in.
