Broken Plates Are Fashion

Maison Martin Margiela, is one of those labels, fashion guys, art people and the world’s design obsessed constantly say they love all the time. At first glance the majority of the clothes seem almost plain: A well-tailored pair of trousers, a jacket in a luxury fabric or a pair of calfskin leather trainers.
The Margiela wearer gets to look like they’re wearing ridiculously simple, unassuming and often brown clothes, though the clothes have cheered up of late. Most famously there’s no logo anywhere to be seen except the simple four white stitches, where a label would have been, that just happen to be visible on the outside. The key to the appeal of Margiela, is that those who want, some in the know people to know; the wearer knows fashion and has money, get to show off, without looking crass.
